CHICAGO FINDS NEW LIFE IN NEW LEADERSHIP GROUP!
Oct.20, 2016
The Chicago Blackhawks have been having problems all year and finally decided to let go of GM Tyler Hetherington. Today they are moving forward to a brighter future having introduce the new management group led by GM Greg Hogan. Hogan's resume spans over ten years in the FHL world and a reputation for "getting the job done" which he hopes to get working on right away as he prepares for a busy off-season. The fans in Chicago should rally behind Hogan pretty quick as they have been waiting to see some changes to fix their present situation. The outlook in 2017 should be one of excitement as Hogan will put his own stamp on the team.

RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS! 2 WEEKS REMAINING!
Oct.14th, 2016
With twenty games remaining the race to the finish line will be filled with story-lines to come. While all teams mathematically have a chance to make the playoffs, fourteen teams will be playing playoff hockey this week to improve their chance for a playoff birth, only eight will prevail. This week was a big week for the Pittsburgh Penguins who are riding a five game win streak into the week and have put up some impressive numbers these past two weeks and are currently playing better than the Rangers and Nordiques who blocking their path to the post season. The Nordiques briefly bumped New York out of the #4 spot but a two game losing streak allow the Rangers to jump back quickly with their own three game win streak. In the West the LA Kings are still pushing the Mighty Ducks for the #4 spot but have a tough week ahead with matchups against St.Louis, Vancouver, and Quebec. This will be a good test for the new acquisitions the Kings made recently as GM Ryan Hannigan is determined to get in the playoffs. This week also saw the Winnipeg Jets go on another winning streak which is currently at five games, putting them 6 points back of Anaheim and 4 points back of the Kings. The Jets upcoming week includes some tough match-ups against Boston, Detroit , and Quebec so we will see how long the streak lasts.

RACE TO THE PLAYOFFS BEGINS!
Oct.8th, 2016
With just under 30 games left to play the race to get into the playoffs will start to unravel. Both conferences have a strong top 2 right now, on the east coast Philadelphia seems to be the team to beat, followed closely by Montreal who have remained a top 4 team all year. If Boston continues playing at a high level there may only be one spot up for grabs between five teams! The Rangers, Senators, Nordiques, Whalers and Penguins all seem to have teams that could represent the #4 spot in the conference and with 28 games remaining for most teams the battle will get intense over the next few weeks!
The Western conference looks a little different sporting a strong foursome featuring a dominant St.Louis Blues team on top. St.Louis has to be one of the favorites to win it all but have swapped places with the Vancouver Canucks a few times this season, both teams have been consistent all year at #1 and #2 so there is no reason to think they will drop out of the playoff picture. The Detroit Red Wings have reinvented the wheel after a horrific start to the year, having recently bumped a struggling Mighty Ducks team from #3 to #4. It looks like there only worry is the LA Kings sitting 5 points out of #4 spot, and maybe the Flames. A lot of the teams in the west are under performing but one team that might rise from the ashes is the Winnipeg Jets. We will continue watching the standings closely and giving weekly updates.
